Where the story begin

Three Springs Studio was born from a journey — which began in Shenzhen, China—a once-developing town where my parents sought a better future and where I was born. It later rose to become a global metropolis. Inspired by that spirit, I crossed the ocean to the U.S., studying in Colorado and North Carolina while exploring cities and cultures—New York’s skyline, Washington’s cherry blossoms, Los Angeles sunsets, Hawaiian waves, and Utah’s canyons. Each place left its mark on me. Eventually, life brought me back to Colorado. And that’s when I realized: beauty doesn’t just lie in faraway places—it’s also here, in the present.

As an artist, I noticed something missing in Denver and many midwestern towns: unlike in New York, Boston, or Seattle, where local artists paint their city streets, changing seasons, and everyday urban life. Colorado’s beauty was rarely illustrated in postcard form. So I began Three Springs Studio with a series called Colorado Memory, celebrating local landmarks, the vivid colors transitioning between seasons, the wonderful and cheerful people I’ve met here, and moments of stillness that deserve to be seen, shared, and celebrated.

But this studio is more than just paintings. It’s a tribute to my roots. The name Three Springs comes from an ancient Chinese poem “A travel’s Song” (游子吟), written by Meng (孟郊) during the Tang Dynasty around 801 AD, that speaks of a mother’s care in the simplest, most human terms for her loved ones:

“Thread in the hands of a mother’s care, becomes a coat for her parting son.

Stitch by stitch, she hems the silence, fearing he won’t return on time.

Who says the heart of a blade of grass, could ever repay the warmth of three springs’ sun?”

In today’s world, technology has shortened distances—a video call can bring us home in seconds. But some love should be expressed out loud. The path that shapes us, the parting that reveals the depth of love, and the art of truly seeing the world through our own eyes— then offering it back, beautifully, as a gift.

Through every brushstroke, I hope to preserve the grace in my memory, bridge the distances between past and present, home and horizon. This is more than art—it is my way of saying: I see you, I remember, and I carry it forward.
