Colorado Skiers
Copper Mountain
One of Colorado’s favorite ski destinations—holds a special place in my heart. This photo was taken in the back bowl capturing the sweeping mountain skylines and I70 highway, at the moment I finally conquered my first black diamond run. Growing up in a warm coastal city, I never had the chance to ski. When I first started, I wiped out more times than I could count, leaving behind more than a few frustrated (and admittedly dramatic) tears on Copper’s slopes. But with the unwavering patience of my friends—who taught me everything from pizza stops to parallel turns and endured I-70 traffic lot with me—I slowly found my rhythm and confidence. This picture? It’s more than just a milestone. It’s reminder that even the steepest challenges can turn into triumphs.
